Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has unveiled plans to bring the beloved documentary cable series, Meerkat Manor, to the big screen in a stunning photoreal film. Originally airing from 2005 to 2008, Meerkat Manor garnered the highest ratings on Animal Planet, capturing audiences with its captivating portrayal of the Whiskers, a meerkat family navigating the challenges of survival in the Kalahari Desert.

The decision to adapt Meerkat Manor into a feature film comes with a touch of corporate synergy, as Warner Bros. acquired Animal Planet following its merger with Discovery. This move sets the stage for a thrilling new cinematic venture.

Described as being "in the spirit of Happy Feet," the film promises to deliver an original storyline inspired by the series, transporting viewers into the heart of the Kalahari Desert alongside the intrepid meerkats.

Behind the scenes, the production will be helmed by the talented duo of Seth Green and Tracy Falco from The Green Room. Executive producers Caroline Hawkins and Clare Birks, representing ITV Studios-owned Oxford Scientific Films (OSF), the creators of the original series, will ensure the project stays true to its roots.
